His savior is his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the Guide stranded on Earth for the last 15 years. They in turn are rescued from certain death by Zaphod Beebblebrox, the fugitive President of the Galaxy, his fashionable rocket scientist girlfriend, Trillian, and Marvin, the chronically depressed, paranoid android. They travel the length and breadth of the cosmos to meet Earth’s architects and stumble upon a conspiracy larger than Life itself. . . all for less than 30 Alterian dollars a day.
